Awe as Antidote

How exactly do we get to a place of feeling stuck? What does it even mean to feel lost? In a world of infinite wonder and possibility how do we get so immobilized and bogged down by things like boredom, ennui, and ruts? While our habits, patterns, and routines serve us well by creating a comfortable life they can also add to our mind numbing restlessness, angst, and existential funkiness.

So what do you do about it? Well, as much as you would probably love to quit your job and travel the world for the rest of your days, I’m saddened to inform you that isn’t entirely practical, sustainable, or even necessarily healthy. Instead the real challenge lies in finding the beauty and wonder in what is already around you. As the following video illustrates, a powerful way to jolt yourself out the banality is to scramble the Self by living for experiences and moments of awe to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
