Jeff Kluger is the author of The Sibling Effect – a book which explores the complex and formative nature of sibling relationships and how they can drastically influence our developing identity well into adulthood. In (belated) honor of the National Sibling Day (April 10th) I thought I’d post the following TED talk Mr. Kluger gave on the hidden power of sibling bonds. It is a rather endearing talk with an entertaining combination of story telling, science, history, and psychology. While watching, I couldn’t help but chuckle at how these childhood dynamics can develop at such a young age and stay preserved well into adulthood. Whether you love them, hate them, are indifferent towards them, or estranged from them here’s wishing you all a Happy Belated National Sibling Day.
